Prick

Prick seeks to convey the intense and sometimes overwhelming nature of love and desire. These emotions can be all-consuming, leaving individuals feeling drained and altered. To symbolize this concept, the form is loosely based on a tick, a parasitic insect that feeds on the blood of its host. In the same way that a tick absorbs everything within its bulbous body, love and desire can consume and absorb an individual's energy, leaving them feeling depleted. The reflective surface of the artwork further emphasizes this idea. As the viewer approaches, their reflection becomes increasingly distorted in the mirror-like surface, illustrating how intense emotions can warp and alter an individual's perception of themselves and the world around them. Prick serves as a poignant reminder of the power of love and desire, and the need for balance and self-care in navigating these intense emotions.
